Submission Guidelines
Underworld Orchard is a literary journal of descent–a space for voices that linger, transform, and endure.
WHAT WE SEEK
Poetry that explores the underworld of the heart; mythical or emotionally true work; writing on grief, love, loss, vulnerability, transformation, and aching beauty; voices that are honest, lush, unflinching, and memorable.
We will consider–but are unlikely to publish–experimental work, prose poems, long poems, or discriminatory views.
SUBMISSION WINDOW
We accept submissions on a rolling basis. There’s a $3 submission fee. You may descend anytime.
PLEASE SEND
3-5 poems per submission in one file. Previously unpublished work only. Simultaneous submissions are welcome; please notify us upon acceptance elsewhere using the note function in Submittable.
FORMAT
Submit in a single Word file. Poems only: no fiction or nonfiction. Include a brief bio in your submission.
